Help with CR120H

Post by lunchbox » Mon Sep 11, 2023 12:48 am

Hi- I have a CR120H, the second one I’ve owned. I think something may be wrong with it, but I’m not sure. The dirty channel sounds incredibly thin and raspy compared to running a Muff through the clean channel.

When I play the boosted clean channel, it’s loud, lots of low end and sounds ‘present’, like it’s right there in the room (which it is).

But when I run the dirty channel (no boost or pedals), it sounds thin and raspy, like a transistor radio. Even with the bass on 10 there’s almost 0 bass response in the tone. It’s an overdose of high end treble and upper mids when compared to the clean. I don’t remember my old CR120 sounding like this at all.

Has anyone else had this experience, and is there somewhere I can send it for testing?

Thanks.

No one seems to be following this any longer - you might have better luck with one of the Orange Facebook groups.
