Re: Bugera V22
The reliability of Bugeras is meant to be pretty shocking, from what I've read... poor QC with a lot of poor soldering work, plastic pots etc.

The clean channel sounded good, the dirty channel sounded quite boxy for my taste, but it's a great amp for one heck of a price.

Bugera = junk.. no two ways about it.

Re: Bugera V22
If you look at the Bugera range, they unashamedly attempt to copy classic amps such as the Marshall JCM900 and the Peavey 5150...
If they get 90 - 95% of the way there for the price they're asking, then fair enough. Especially if you're not bothered about the name / branding.
Most of us are bothered about that - only a small few could honestly say they weren't. Also as for reliability, I've had my Rockerverb 50 back in the factory within 6 months of buying it. Marshall have a poor reputation for reliability... Just because a big name appears on the front doesn't mean you won't get problems...
The Bugera stuff sounds reasonable for the price in my opinion...

hehehehehe... True True. It's like trying to sell car to a foreign country where the car name turns out to be "No Go" like the Chevy NOVA wouldn't sell in South America. Trust us the sound of this amp is like Sweet Sodomy.Van Cleef wrote:avoid any amp with a name that sounds like you're taking one up the clacker...

Re: Bugera V22
Do the same rules apply as for other Behringer gear?
1. Can you still function when it breaks/fails?
2. Can you afford to buy another one when it breaks/fails?
3. Are you able to blow it off when it breaks/fails?
If you can answer "yes" to all three questions, then you might be okay (even when it breaks/fails).

Re: Bugera V22
I'm just not following your answer... Are you saying that this amp will probably Break/or Fail???? The other reason I just don't understand the overall attraction to this amp is that I think it Sounds Like POOP! Yes it's cheap, but it SOUNDS Like POOP!Borderline Productions wrote:Do the same rules apply as for other Behringer gear?

I see no reason for even taking the chance just 'cause something is low priced
buy quality once and be done with it!

Re: Bugera V22
Epiphone valve junior is the same price as the Bugera V5 which would you choose?
I already owned a Epi VJ combo and it was awesome for the money. I paid £79 brand new before the price rise where it went up to £120. Still worth it imo
Not sure if id buy the V5 tho? Looks nice but thats about all?

Tone is everything
Re: Bugera V22
Epiphone makes some great starter tube amps. I don't mean that the original state sucks, but after mods these amps are sought after, and the tone is really decent in these amps. All I can say is what my opinion is of the sound clips of these Bugera amps on YouTube. Now grant it this is not the best way to judge an amp but if every demo I have seen just lacks good tone (Crappy Compression IMO in every model)I'm not going to be interested in pursuing any of their amps..Mrjones2004x wrote:Epiphone valve junior is the same price as the Bugera V5 which would you choose?
