This thing is so old it might need carbon dating!

Can anyone shed any light on this 4x12 Cabinet? Is it minus the Coat of Arms or did they not have them back then?

I guess I should have looked at the catalog scans first.

Looks like it is 1973. Makes it as old as me.... But it is in better shape!

Metal handles and Compton St badge make it pretty old. 1973 or earlier. I have a '71 that looks the same (minus the black grille cloth).

That being said, the best way to date any cab is to take a look at the speakers and date those (assuming they're original). Don't bother popping the entire back off, you can probably just get away with taking one of the handles off and doing it like that. Much easier.

EDIT: BTW, the fact that it's marked 15ohms leads me to believe it would've coincided with the heads of that era that were marked 15 ohms, as opposed to 16. I'd say '72 or earlier, but don't quote me on that. ;)
