After prolonged amp use, how do you shut your amp down?
Do you just turn the thing off? Do you put it on standby and let it cool down before turning off?
Also, when using the amp for the day, do you leave it on if you plan on using it in a little while,
or do you turn it on and off each time? What is your longest usage time?

I shut the whole thing off and have never had a problem with any amp and I've been doing that for 30 years..... besides, a standby switch is a new development for Orange anyway! Billy

You are supposed to switch straight off. And Oranges have only had stand bys for couple of years, and with SS rectified, Im unsure why???

Flip it to standby for a few seconds before shutting down. This will increase the life of your tubes. Just because the standby switch is new doesn't mean it's not a good idea to use it. God bless,

You should ALWAYS use the standby switch before shutting down your amp....waiting approx. 30 seconds before hitting the "off" switch. This will lengthen tube life (and tubes ain't cheap) as well as allow voltages inside the amp to settle down properly.
I own several Mesa/Boogie Amps and they alway "firmly" recommend this proceedure.
It makes sense.

Just shut the thing off! I always hear a lot of talk about extending tube life but no one can really prove that.... it's just people's perception. Who knows if you're really getting an extra day or two out of your tubes? I have never, ever, had a problem with shutting an amp off. I always just click both switches on a standby switch-equipped amp or just the power switch on my older Oranges...
