Orange Crush 60 - clean/dirty switch

Post by johnnyboy » Fri Feb 21, 2020 10:34 am

Hi, not sure if this goes here or in the technical thread.......

Without the footswitch plugged in my amp seems stuck on the clean channel, even when toggling between clean and dirty it stays on clean. As soon as I plug in the footswitch it works fine. BUt it never used to be this way. Any ideas? Seems like the footswitch function has disengaged the top toggle switch ability somehow, which seems weird. Cheers.

That's weird.

I would first change the settings to something obvious - like extreme dirty for the second channel and extreme clean for the first and see if it is really doing that...

Otherwise, I would have no idea how to fix that other than a visit to a tech.

It's definitely clean all the way without the footswitch plugged in. Seems to be a recent occurrence. Very strange eh.

I did a speaker swap a month back, put in an Eminence red coat, but can't see that effecting it.

That sounds like a faulty switch, or a loose connection on the switch. When you plug in the foot-switch, it bypasses that switch. You could open it up and have a peek at the wires, make sure its not plugged in

Cheers Jondog, will take a look. Well, not me as I'm a doofus with electrics and gear, but I know a mate who can check it. Just to be doubly sure, the clean/dirty switch on the amp itself, not the footswitch?

Yes. Check the switch for loose connections...

Thanks all, really appreciate the replies.
Luckily it's still under warranty so if it gets tricky I can return it no sweat to my local store.
