Came back to orange again.

Post by Mrjones2004x » Thu Jan 09, 2020 7:34 pm

Very long time no posts. Still popping in here and there.

Picked up a mint tiny terror combo 12” on the old eBay locally for £150! What a result.
Forgot the beauty sound this amp has with a telecaster.

Has a G12H 30W speaker 70th anniversary. Thought they all had V30’s so that was a nice surprise as love a heritage over a vintage 30.
No idea how old it is
It’s Chinese and serial number is 00454-0612
Keep seeing info about yy/mm but that don’t make sense so if you got ideas then let me know
Cheers guys

Nice to be back
Tone is everything

Nice to have you back in the fold!!

Do you still have you Marshall amp too? Was it a DSL?

Your tiny terror is from June (06) 2012 (12). The G12H30 was standard for them until Orange switched to the cheaper voice of the world speaker. They never had a V30 for some reason.

Hi,

It was a Marshall jcm 900 mk3. I converted a 1x12 combo In to a 2x12 home made vertical combo.

I put them up against each other tonight and the orange had the Marshall hands down in pure thickness of tone. I was shocked to be fair how thin the Marshall sounded.
I love my 900 and this made it feel and sound small at similar volumes. I only used them as they stood so terror with one speaker and Marshall with 2 and the orange still sounded fuller and bigger.

Thanks for the date info also I should of looked at the last digits and not the first

I tried the TT combo with that speaker once and it was glorious. I backed out of the deal due to a few rips in the tolex which I still regret (didn't start understanding "mojo" until recently hah). I haven't seen one for sale in these parts for a few years now.

Nice find!
