Thoughts on expanding Orange Amps collection

Post by mici88 » Sun Oct 20, 2019 5:15 pm

I already have the following heads:

Rockerverb MK1 50w
Rocker 30
Tiny Terror

The way I use them: Rockerverb is mostly for heavily distorted, or should I say high-gain stuff, Rocker for classic, 70s-80s overdriven tones and Tiny Terror for crunchy things. So I have 6v6 craze, EL34 goodness, EL84 chime.

Since I'm expecting to get some cash soon, I am thinking about expanding my Orange collection. Tone-wise, which amp (head exclusively), could or should I get to complement my humble collection?

A Tremlord would certainly be different.

I have 5x Terrors myself, so I know the feeling, can't get enough of that classic Orange Tone!

My fruit stand...
Rocker 15 Terror
Brent Hinds Terror
Jim Root #4 Terror
Dark Terror
Micro Dark Terror

I am also a big time fan of 70s & 80s Classic & Hard Rock. These amps simply gush out flowing juices of rich classic crunch.

Either an AD30 or CS50 would complement what you have so far.

The AD30.
Such a great amp, and yet very different to both the R30 and RV50.

My vote is the AD30. Nothing else like it.

None! don't give in to Orange hoarding :)

Perhaps try out a different cab/speakers? All of your amps will sound new and fresh!!!

Just a fun suggestion,

Grab a Dark Terror and run it mono with your Tiny Terror.

I think that would be a sweet rig, running into both amps at once. Do you have 2 cabs? Preferably with two 4x12's!!!!
