I asked the seller on ebay if its been changed or rewired in anyway. His answer revealed that the amp tech found that a cap was installed the wrong way around and was duly sorted and that the gut shots were done whilst on the amp techs bench.
It doesn't look anything like the others, and I'm having a hard time believing that a cap was in backwards in an amp of that ilk. My Spidey senses are tingling.

Here's a better comparison with full chassis shots. "Cecelia" vs. "Roxanne". Note that "Cecelia" looks like "Sally" and "Angie" but much different than "Roxanne".

Well if the thinking is that its a fake, I would doubt that for various reasons. It’s also painted inside that it’s a “one off”.

Looks legit for sure. Maybe just that Ade had a spare chassis lying around and decided to fit something in it.

Either that or he decided to challenge himself with a true PTP build rather than turret board.

Looks neat.

That dodgy capacitor business is a bit worrying though.....

Not fake, but rebuilt, perhaps. Perhaps not. Just looking at the spaces where the writing is, I'm starting to think it left Orange exactly like that.

I say it was built like that. The workmanship is pretty much the same. You can tell a lot by solder joints and the way wires are bent and twisted. It would look horrible if someone took the original components and rewired them in a different layout. The tube sockets are in a different place than the other amps, which would mean there would be empty socket holes, hardware mounting holes, missing paint etc...if they were originally where the other amps tubes, components and transformers are located.

I have consulted with my 'Book of Orange' and although generic in the history of Orange amps, there is a pic of 'Roxanne' on page 54. The pic only shows an inset of the interior of 'Roxanne' but I think it's enough to confirm that the amp is genuine. Interesting that the wiring and layout is a lot different than the two mentioned, but not surprising, as 40 amp heads were constructed each with a girls name as opposed to a serial number.
Here's a quote from the book

"The uniqueness of each of these hand wired, point to point, collectors amplifiers has been confirmed with a photograph of the underside of the chassis, recorded and authorised by the custom shop"

A very desirable item :D

Thanks for the info. That is indeed a desirable amp.

Here's "Katherine" with the same build as "Sally", Daisy", and "Ceceilia".
"Roxanne" seems to be the oddball of the bunch.
