Bax Bangeetar Amp Sim for recording?

Post by Ensanguine » Fri Feb 15, 2019 5:25 pm

Having trouble finding many good samples online using the Bangeetar's Amp Sim directly to record.
There seem to be mixed reviews about this feature.

For those who have a Bangeetar, how do you like the Amp Sim output? Do you think this would serve as a good quality recording alternative over traditionally micing up an amp/cab? Or is it more of a direct to PA tool?

There would (and should) be mixed reviews of every single cab sim output on every pedal device. At best the cab sim will be one interpretive approximate version of one particular 412 cab/speaker size & configuration..

Perfectly useful for PA use and for general recording.. but far below what you can do with a VST in your DAW.

You could probably make lemonades by double tracking with a separate EQ, xpander mix, but better off using it as and when the convenience works, and accepting it for what it is.

Not a slight on the Bax, as it applies to every preamp pedal out there... its why the Torpedo cab is $450 for power amp and speaker sim only.
