Fake Gibson on eBay?

It's gone now. Kudos to eBay for removing it because I know the seller didn't remove it himself. He even claimed he couldn't edit the listing to note that it was a counterfeit.

before it went down i actually looked up the serial #. it came back as a gibson custom shop made in 2005. but that doesn't mean much other than they know how to decode the serials and how to make them.


btw gibson has been making counterfeits of their own products for a few years now.

Interesting stuff for anyone in the USA thinking about buying or selling a fake guitar and concerned about legality.

Apparently it's okay to buy one, but not to import one. So buying one that's in the US is okay but buying (importing) one from China is not. And it's illegal to sell one in the US no matter how it got here.
