Funny POPPING sound On New Rocker 15

Post by Gorgster » Sun Sep 10, 2017 10:38 pm

Hi everyone this my first post so please forgive me if this question has already been answered...
Today I just received my Rocker 15 so excited...I just pulled it out the box to inspect It ...When I
I powered the amp and nothing plugged into it, all knobs off....when I switch to bedroom mode I hear
a moderate popping sound coming from the speaker......Is this Normal?
Any help would be appreciated...I don't know what to do.

Is the amp in standby when you do this?

Thank you Jondog for replying to my post....Yes..I did not touch anything it was on standby..So I tried
Switching it in and out of standby and then toggling the bedroom mode and still I can hear the popping
sound but I have to admit that I can't recall if it happened all the time when I went to half and then full mode...Also I only had the amp on for not more than 5 minutes and then I shut her down....I was wondering do you think that I didn't give the tubes enough time to warm up.

all the best

I'm thinking it might be better to change that switch with the power off. Im not sure what circuit they're using for that feature, but the pop may be electricity arcing across the switch.

I'm also getting the same popping sound with my Rocker 15 Terror. In addition in Headroom mode my amp has very audible hum/hiss/buzz even volume is off. The noise gets even worse if I add any pedals in the effects loop. In bedroom mode everything is dead silent. Is this normal? I've already tried different power tubes and also replaced the effects loop tube but noise is still there.

Popping sound?

First, take your watch out of your pocket.

Well, that's what fixed my popping sound.

Otherwise, move it around - try a different outlet - rule out all of the stupid stuff - no pedals, etc.
