Is it normal to have to turn reverb up half way up

Post by Dxjxrose » Thu Jun 28, 2018 3:01 am

Have a roververb 50 mki and when i got it reverb didnt work... Ive had it at 2 techs now and its still not what sounds right to me but the second tech claims its fine for a single tube reverb circut. Have to turn it up half way to get even close to enough usable reverb

No, it isnt normal.

I have the RV50 MKI, the reverb 1/2 way up is crazy deep. It's beautiful too, i hope you get it working.

Yeah, that's not right. 1/2 way up, it's drenched in reverb. Think lost in the middle of the biggest cathedral you can think of, and that cathedrals is empty.......

Contact the Orange web site and ask for recommendations. I live in the UK, so can't really assist.

I know ruby, in Manhattan, sell Orange amps, and must have a link with a reputable tech, but I'm clearly overstretching there.

Good luck.

I’ve hear of the connections being (accidentally) reversed and causing that sort of problem. Shouldn’t hurt anything to try swapping them round to see if that might be the problem...
