What ever brand is on sale as long as they're 10s or 11s.

Re: STRINGS! what do you use?
You don't notice any distinctive differences between the brands? Some brands have a warmer tone or are brighter? Depending on the guitar they're set on, I often can hear sound differences between pickups whether single coil or humbuckers especially if they are active/hot high output models? I even feel a difference between them like how smooth to the touch or if I can bend easily some and others appear to be to taut. I have always favored Nickel wound strings that give a warmer vintage classic rock tone.

Re: STRINGS! what do you use?
For the last few years it's been D'Addario 11-52 (medium top/heavy bottom) on all my guitars, from E-standard to C-standard tuning. I've been happy with them so far.
Re: STRINGS! what do you use?
i used to exclusively use dean markley strings. i've also used ernie ball skinny top heavy bottoms for a while.
but now i use stringjoy strings. they are sorta pricey maybe. but you can get any custom gauge you need. and they are very good strings.
i have a few guitars with different gauges and different tunings. i have one guitar with a wound 'g' as well, otherwise it won't intonate. they even offer a string subscription service. plus for me, they are in the next county.

Re: STRINGS! what do you use?
I've tried all sorts of different strings and string corrosion has never been an issue for me. Others have tried the same and have very different results. I suspect that skin oils vary significantly. Those folk I know with aggressive steel corroding skin seem to like D'Addario more...
Anyone else find the same?

Re: STRINGS! what do you use?
As of late, I've been experimenting with D'Addario's NY XL 10/46. I do a lot of bends and generally play the snot out of them, I usually get 4, maybe 5 shows out of a set. When they do go South they seem to go really flat above the 12th fret on the E & B. I do have very corrosive sweat and strings tend to show rust almost immediately, no matter the brand.

Re: STRINGS! what do you use?
Actually now you mention it, the only guitar I still have 11-49s on is my Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster. I use D'addario NYXL1149s on it but not because of corrosive sweat, but because with other brands I kept breaking strings at the trem. Someone on another forum recommended them as good with offsets and they certainly solved my particular problem. Expensive though.

After years trying different brand, materials, etc, it's now a long time I'm happy with choices above, and think I could stick to that for a moment.
Only full nickel strings, to get a more average tone between new and used strings, and also for a warmer tone.
On Fender guitars (25"), Bullet Nickel 9-46
On Gibson guitars or similar (24,75") Pyramid pure Nickel 10-52
On my jazz archtop Pyramid Gold
On acoustics, 12 strings Ernie Ball Earthwood Light
On 6 Strings Ernie Ball Eathwood 10-48

Re: STRINGS! what do you use?
so I was wrong, I thought I put Paradigms on the tele but the pack in my case was unopened and the NXYL pack in my case was opened. So I had NYXL's on there. I put the Para's on and right now I'm really liking them. Got about 6 hours and no rust, while the NXYL's were brassing one me pretty good already. I bought the cobalts to try next.
I find the Para's feel like an Elixer string, but not as waxy. The tone is brighter than Elixer and has bit more attack. I'd say the tone is comparable to the NXYL.

Re: STRINGS! what do you use?
I order at least a pack of strings for every guitar I own every month and every 4 months for my bass guitars. That's between 12-17 sets of strings each month, so I buy what's on sale or what has a nice bulk discount at sweetwater. Not saying I will buy any old junk, but I've settled on D'addario NY XL, Ernie ball slinky and super slinky, GHS Gilmour boomers Rotosound, Ball and XL for the bass and Martin's for my acoustic. I'll also grab GS or any other Ball strings that strike my fancy. I don't really find any sound difference between brands, just between styles. However, the one brand of string I do think sounds like ass are the Elixr. I just think those coated strings sound like ten year old bass strings. Dead AF
