NGD Rocker 30 combo
Wow what a find!!! in excellent condition from 2006 , looks like its hardly been used... Been sat in someones room for years not wanted as the solid state practice Amp preferred as the R30 is too loud.
I sold my last one about a month ago as it was pretty tatty, was looking for the head version but this came up locally.
I've fitted new valves all round sounds great!! And at a ridiculous price for what you get.

Re: NGD Rocker 30 combo
Congrats!!!!!
Is that your 3rd R30 combo NGD/NAD?
In the UK the R30 can be ridiculously good value.
People often try and fail to sell them for rrasonnable money, but they never seem to shift at thay price - so if you wait a little, you'll get a bargain.
Anyway..... pics?
What valves dis you drop in? Just fitted Tung Sol EL34 in mine. They sound pretty good. The old JJ EL34 were still pretty good though.
I'll soon be trying some 60s RFT ECC83 I managed to score cheaply recently.

Re: NGD Rocker 30 combo
Yep my 3rd and bought for under 300.
Sounds superb , really pleased, this is a keeper!! ...When I first started using it there was loads of bass, too much, only when I checked the bass knob did I see that the bass was set on full..... but because the knob was not positioned or fixed properly it appeared the bass was on 9 o'clock,2 mins later after I've located my small screwdriver works perfectly! .. Wonder if the seller got rid as it was too much bass.....
Fitted JJ power tubes and tungsol pre-amp tubes, sounds good!

Re: NGD Rocker 30 combo
Awesome! On my 2nd one after regretably selling the first, thought I could replicate it with another amp. Close, but not the feel. I find myself staying on the dirty channel more and more and really working with it to get the sounds I want. It’s a very versatile amp even without the Natural channel and I think it’s because it responds very well to different guitars/pickups/pedals being fed into it.

Score!!
I've got a rocker 30 head lined up for next week.

Here in Canada too. When I was moving and got hit by a wack of lawyer fees and unexpected bank fees I pretty much had to sell as much as possible. Nothing like a 20,000 bill two months before your move in date that you need to complete before hand...stupid bank borrowing law change. I had my RV50H and 412 cab up for sale, and at a very good price I might add, and nope, wouldn't move. I actually traded in the 412 cab and an old student grade bass I've had for a decade collecting dust yesterday for more than I had the RV50 listed for!Les Paul Lover wrote: ↑Sun May 20, 2018 8:00 amIn the UK the R30 can be ridiculously good value.

My AD140 when I sold it? yea, sat forever before I even got a bite, same with my AD30TC. It's strange, the Orange guys know how awesome these amps are, but it seems most people just want a Mesa, Marshall, or a Fender. Silly people...

Re: NGD Rocker 30 combo
In the UK, the only amps who seem to keep reasonably well are the classic Fenders, deluxe reverb, Princeton reverb, baseman. Fender has done a good j9b with those.Wired wrote: ↑Fri May 25, 2018 1:42 pmHere in Canada too. Re: NGD Rocker 30 combo
AC30's, even the Korg era and newer reissues are holding value stupidly well. A Warfdale AC30 from 2007 just showed up locally for 80% of new retail. I find that insane. But I see Orange's just sit and keep dropping for silly prices.
people are silly. I've been through so many amps that I don't think I'll ever be happier than I am with an AC30 and a RV50 in my collection.

Re: NGD Rocker 30 combo
for some reason the R30 must be more admired over in the USA.. pretty common for them to be north of $700 here.. and ..still a bargain.

Re: NGD Rocker 30 combo
Yep. Easily over 1k in Canada land.
Re: NGD Rocker 30 combo
I feel I gave someone a stellar deal then when I sold my R30 for $800. granted that was like 8 years ago now.

Re: NGD Rocker 30 combo
Head or Combo? I typically see them going for 50-60% off new price. That said, people who know about the R30, will pay more. If I ever need to re-buy, I will for sure overpay.
