getting Fender breakup with an AD30?
I messed with an AD30 today but couldn't really get it cooking to try it out. I felt like I was almost getting some fender edge of break up tone out of it. I will likely go back and mess with it more but does anyone have any suggestions on settings to get it in that neighborhood? I am also surprised how bright the AD30 was after messing with it more. My memory seems to remember it being a bit darker than it was.

Re: getting Fender breakup with an AD30?
Channel one on the ad30tc has plenty of chime and can be a sweet clean channel if you want it just keep the gain setting low and volume high ...both are interactive to some degree and when it's turned up not a dark sounding amp imo - I can get plenty of chime using a SG.....less chime on lower volume settings, it likes to be turned up.
If you can get the volume past 12 o'clock great! I generally use mine on channel one with gain 9am volume 3pm.
Compared to the rv50mkii I use to have the ad30 set clean just cuts through a band mix so much better.
The amp is not one which needs hours of tweaking of the Eq to set up As long as you keep the eq roughly 12 o'clock and judge to taste I'd say it's more important to get the volume high and tweak the gain knob, where that needs setting will depend on your guitar and and volume but to get a clean tone that dirties up when you dig in try the gain 10 o'clock - 12 o'clock.

The AD amps have some of the sweetest cleans I've ever heard.
As for fender type overdrive.... try and get that from the power amp only, but Orange amps are a little more articulate I find - a lot of that can depend on which speaker is fitted to which fender amp.

I’m not sure what kind of Fender sound you’re referring to (there are many), but if you’re looking for something that sounds like a Fender, it’s probably best to buy a Fender.
If you approach an amp with plan of trying to make it sound like something different, you’ll likely be disappointed with the amp. I find it’s best to see what the amp does, rather than seeing how close it can get to sounding like another amp.

Thank you for the reply. That is pretty sage advice. I think I will continue using my Bassman 10 as my fender breakup tone.fiveightandten wrote: ↑Sun Apr 08, 2018 12:07 pmI’m not sure what kind of Fender sound you’re referring to (there are many), but if you’re looking for something that sounds like a Fender, it’s probably best to buy a Fender.

Cheers. The AD30 does it's own thing, and that thing it worth checking out. But if you're partial to a particular sound, I say go right to the source.afjungemann wrote: ↑Sun Apr 08, 2018 5:42 pmThank you for the reply. That is pretty sage advice. Not a fan of the AD50? I haven’t messed with one but I am surprised to hear someone like the AD30 more.
