Id like to hear your thoughts in those pick ups.

So the neck pick up is the same as on the same player special - pretty sweet pick up. Surprisingly jangly.

One day, I will own a duesenberg again!!!!

That is one sweet doozy, topped off with a really sweet price. Good catch!

Wow.... used it for the first time tonight at rehearsal. It sounds amazing and strangely enough, better than my other Duesenbergs. I expected to use it on a couple of songs tonight - instead I played it for two hours straight. The only thing that I need to get used to is how the strap goes on the right... plus I need a right angle cord for it - the huge plug sticking straight out of the guitar looks goofy....

Or you could put off getting the cable and get another flying v that has the jack on the side. Get the cable later, when you can find a good deal on a cable.

GAS jokes aside, apparently not all right angle plugs are going to fit that. You might want to check out this thread:

I know... I've tried right angle plugs on my Teles with bad results (Strats, too). I have a couple that have worked but often, they'll pop out on their own at unfortunate times. I never use a right angle plug with my electrics for that reason... not sure what I'm going to do short of switching cables when switching guitars...

More to come....

From Duesenberg's website:

Rocket II
Originally the Rocket was a meant to be a unique item for the German rock guitarist Michael Schenker, but then ended up in the Duesenberg catalog. It was equipped, as expected, with a Grand Vintage and a Crunchbucker. On some versions we mounted a short Diamond Deluxe Tremola, which was only possible using a pretty tricky construction with custom made brackets.
Discontinued in 2014!
If you don't mind me asking, what pickups are in your gold Tele?

Don't mind you asking at all!

Bridge is a Lindy Fralin 5% overwound Blues Special; neck is a Rio Grande Muy Grande I think...

The Fralin pickups are pretty awesome!

FYI, a Les Paul jack plate fits perfectly on the body of most Teles. It's the first mod I do when I get a Tele. I pull the jack cup out, drill 4 small holes and mount the Les Paul jack plate. A normal right angle plug is no problem at all.

The caveat is that you have to drill your guitar. Mine is just an American Standard, and I drilled it for a Hipshot B Bender anyways, but I can see how one might not want to drill a nice guitar.

So, I actually found that I have an 18.5' cord with a right angle plug that fits into most of my Teles AND the Duesenberg. Used it the other night with no problems!

Cool. I was just looking at the Lindy Fralin Steel Pole 43, a P90 sounding Tele pickup.
