In London there are great shops on Denmark Street. Amsterdam, Rebel Relic is always worth a visit.

If you can get down to Brighton, GAK is one of the best music stores on the planet....

I agree. I wish I could recommend a good shop in Paris, but despite being French, my guitat hero life has been spent in England.bclaire wrote:If you can get down to Brighton, GAK is one of the best music stores on the planet....

Having been to Paris a number of times I can safely say, there aren't any guitar shops in Paris worth checking out...

I'm guessing you'll be limited to public transport? If so, venturing out of the main cities could be expensive for all and will certainly be for London! Brighton however is worth a visit regardless of guitar shops and is an easy train journey. You can find out the costs of train journeys at http://www.nationalrail.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. In London the music shops are located around Denmark Street as stated above but they spill out on to Tottenham Court Road, Oxford Street, Soho Square and a few other streets in the area. All are easy walking distance from Tottenham Court Road underground station.
Brighton is a good day trip with an excellent music shop. If you only wanted to go to a music shop, I'd also suggest Anderton's in Guildford but Guildford is hideous!

Rebel Relic in Amsterdam! The String, Palm Guitars, De Plug, Dirk Witte. Havent been to all of them but they are well regarded stores.

I have found Wunjo in Denmark Street to be a good, friendly shop. It is a bit "chaotic" in there, but I like that. Also, as has been said, GuitarGuitar in Epsom which is a shortish train ride from London Victoria Station and isn't too expensive. They are pretty good too.
