Yeah you could spend a lot of cash on that, or just use the volume control on your guitar. If it's too dark, you can do a treble bleed for a couple cents.

it says it takes the midrange out. the midrange is the reason i want an orange. no thanks.

Last two responses miss the point totally. It's to add a clean(ish) channel. Volume knobs works, but you're limited to just that, unless you add An EQ pedal (then you're doing two things). The Orange sound is a dirty sound, orange aren't known for clean tones. This pedal lets you use a single channel amps original dirty sound and clean it up for clean tones, rather then push a clean sound with a dirt pedal. No idea how it'll sound but thought I'd give it a go. Can't always have it both ways (clean and dirty) on a single channel amp and if you really like the dirt tones out of it, this might be the answer. Would be great for an OR50.

Cool idea. I like the idea of turning down the guitar volume. The other way is a volume pedal in the front. I have seen EQ pedals set to your liking and then pull down the overall output. I think the Boss EQ pedal has a master slide to control output. Just slide it down and you can stomp for uour clean tone with EQ. This looks a good as anything else, will have to check the price vs other options.

I still like volume pot on guitar...it is free

Looks useful! I hate the dark and muddy tone from rolling back guitar volume on humbuckers, even with treble bleeds, so this seems like a great solution for when I'm not using single coils.
Please come back with your impression after some time with it.

Arrived today. I've been skeptical of it, but I've got to say it's a winner! I'm truly impressed by it!! I think it does a better job as an underdrive than an overdrive does as an overdrive. I put all the controls at noon and set the amp to full gain (Traynor YBA-1) so I had lots of gain and as soon as I turned the pedal on, I had a very nice crispy clean tone, no tone suck or anything. Heaps ahead of just turning the volume knob on the guitar down. In fact I did that comparison and I couldn't get as good of a clean tone, not even with a Boss GE-7 EQ pedal. I've tried doing what this pedal does with the GE-7 too by cutting down the volume, but just doesn't do it. Another thing that impressed me, you can throw an overdrive in front of it and still push your amp just like you have a clean amp being pushed. Pedals sound great through it. Found pedals work best before it in the chain so I'm thinking this is a last in line pedal. I half expected I would fool around with it and maybe send it back, but I think it's a keeper and a definite tool for single channel amps, or even to offer up more tones on any amp for that matter. I like the EQ on it too, not too drastic so it's easy to shape the eq without dampening the amp down. I didn't feel like I was using a pedal to get the clean tones I was getting, it feels like an amp set clean. Love it.

So it's probably fine for running time based effects with too maybe even a subtle reverb?
