Rockerverb Death/Black Metal

Post by Tizzer » Fri Feb 27, 2015 4:53 am

Recently finished a song with my buddy who does vocals and figured I'd share it with you fine folks. All the guitars are my LTD MH-250NT > Maxon OD808 > Rockerverb 100 MKI. Feel free to share your thoughts, I always welcome constructive criticism. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYozwe0yqxQ" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Right..... Lets be brutaly honest.

The guitar tracks are really pretty good - some of the riffs are excellent even IMO. However I'm really not keen on the singing/screaming.

But hey oh, I'm not the black / death metal target audience, so what do I know?

As soon as the 'singing' started I switched it off.

Singing is great! Tone is great! But I find the guitar parts a bit boring/repetitive.

I totally understand if certain aspects like the vocals are a turn off. This kinda thing isn't meant for everyone haha. For those who do like it, there are more songs in the works. I'm gonna try to incorporate more technicality in my guitar playing in other songs, I just don't want to take away from the whole simple/catchy/fun vibe by adding a bunch of complicated stuff. Thanks for your feedback and for taking the time to listen. It's very much appreciated :D

I admire the courage some people have to "put it out there" regardless of criticism. I wish I was so brave... I am my own worst critic and enemy though and I never really open up as a result I am afraid. Thanks for posting it. I am not into screamo either, one reason I like Sabbath is bc of Ozzy's clear vocals...but...I am liking some of the guitar parts...and music of all sorts tends to grow on me so I will give it more listens!

and sorry if I offended by saying "screamo" I really don't know the genres anymore as there are so darn many!

edit: I see you called it death/black metal...noted

Thanks for listening man, I appreciate you taking the time even though screaming isn't your thing. There are definitely too many genres, especially in metal. If I'm ever unsure, I usually just stick to "metal" to be safe :lol:

Yeah again the vocals aren't my thing. (Sorry!) The rest all hangs together really well though - nicely done. Great sounds and mix. You did well on the drum programming too.

Thanks for sharing.

Guitars sound very well, accurate playing, I like it.
Now about the singing I won't tell if it's good or not that good, I'm just from another age, and I admit i don't really understand the scream singing.

So, sorry, can't really give a constructive feedback about.
