Mix test - Tele + Rockerverb content
I'm planning on having a friend do some vocals on this, but otherwise it's almost a completed mix. I've been working a lot on my guitar and bass sound and wanted to see what you lovely folks thought. Guitars are a Fender American Special Tele straight into my Rockerverb 100 and PPC212. Bass is a Mexican Fender Jazz through a GK-mb112 with an old MXR Distortion+ in front for some grit. Any and all constructive feedback encouraged. Hope you enjoy! https://soundcloud.com/tizzer/10-28-14a

I like it.
Are you playing out anytime soon? Where do you usually play?

Re: Mix test - Tele + Rockerverb content
Thanks! I WISH I was playing out soon. I was/am in a band that played semi-regularly, usually at the Middle East or All Asia (before they tore it down), but our singer/rhythm guitarist/main songwriter went back to school and doesn't have time for the band right now. I jam with our drummer once in a while, but mostly I've been working on recording. I'd love to start playing shows again though.bclaire wrote:I like it.

Tele's + Rockerverb is a really nice combo! You've really got a nice, thick and full sound that really is the "Orange Tone". Really well played and a nice catchy song Will be fun to hear some vocals on it!

Thanks for the compliments man, glad you like it! I haven't done much vocal recording yet so hopefully I don't ruin the song, haha. It's funny I actually wanted to use my other guitar because I thought humbuckers would suit the song better, but my tele just sounds so good through that rockerverb I couldn't help use that one for the recording.saturnine wrote:Tele's + Rockerverb is a really nice combo! I second that, I like what you've done there, but am wondering which way will the lyrics and voice take it...!

Thanks! I wish I could say it was real, but alas, I programmed them with Superior Drummer. I hope this means I programmed them well then!MikeD wrote:Sweet...tight-ass drums going on there!!
I'm not sure which direction it will go myself! I'm not a lyricist or singer, so I'm going to leave that up to my friends. Might take a while because of conflicting work schedules, but I'm excited.Les Paul Lover wrote:I second that, I like what you've done there, but am wondering which way will the lyrics and voice take it...!

Hey guys no vocals on this song yet, but I recently got a new camera and made a little playthrough video of the song if you guys are interested. No shots of my rockerverb in this video, but plenty of my tele and my messy room

Sounds very nice, love the 3D overdriven texture. To my ears, the solo could use a thicker sound, but it's pretty cool nonetheless.

Great. Nicely layered, bass sits nicely too.
Good job. Look forward to the finished product.
