I guess I overplayed my pinky and now there is a slice right down the side of it (as the top is well calloused.) What do you do when you cut your fingers and you don't want to take 3 days break to heal?
I heard of people using super glue before but I was hoping some type of tape would do the trick temporarily.

Re: Cut Fingers
Super glue was invented for emergency use to close wounds.
Frank smashed a finger the day of a gig once, and used an X-ACTO knife to cut a callous off of his big toe and superglued it to his finger - taking time to line up the lines of the fingerprints sort of - and it held up for 90% of the gig that night. Looked passable, too.
I mean, it will work, but you'd really have to need to use it or be a little bit nuts to do so with the superglue....

Re: Cut Fingers
We've got this stuff called Germolene new skin you can paint over the top of small cuts and grazes. It stings like nuts for a minute, but it covers over the wound and stops stuff getting into it.
If you keep agitating the wound or rubbing it against your guitar, it's going to take longer to heal, and there isn't much that's going to stop it hurting a little when you play until it heals.
If you don't need to play, just let it heal up.

In the states we have the same stuff... New Skin. It sure does sting like crazy but it works fairly wellirish_admiral wrote:We've got this stuff called Germolene new skin you can paint over the top of small cuts and grazes. I once sliced the end of my finger in half lengthways on a machine in work, obviously I couldn't play for a while but a few weeks after getting the stitches out I was able to wear finger bandages and fret notes that way. You can get them in chemists and basically work like a condom.

Re: Cut Fingers
Of course it did!
As Billy said that is exactly what it was originally designed for. Well, in the battlefield situation really, but gigs can get a bit like that...

Although it's kind of pricey I've found that Liquid BandAid works the best out of all of that stuff.
