Moog tones through Rockerverb 100 MKII

Post by fiaj » Thu Apr 25, 2013 3:35 pm

I know people here generally dislike my music, but I have to share this for the tones!!!
For some reason I had never plugged my synth (Moog Little Phatty) into my Rockerverb before the other day, I guess because there would be less subs and generally my synth is about bass.
I'm doing synthesisers for a signed band soon, some concept album. They want "mechanical" sounds so I thought I'd try some other amps. This doesn't show much of the "mechanical" stuff (the dirty channel is PERFECT though) but still shows a beautiful range of tones.
Most of this is clean channel with a pretty heavy dose of beautiful Orange reverb, there is a little bit going through my Woolly Mammoth too. All live (with a looper).
Much as I love this music, I'm sharing this for the sounds. The recording is beautiful. It's an AKG C414b (78% left) and a cheapish Red9 pencil condenser (78% right). It's a fairly quiet master because I am very much against compression with this kind of music, just turn it up. :) :)

So, I'm now thinking I need to trade my AD200B MKIII for a Thunderverb 200 and use that as my main synth amplifier… any takers?

It would definitely be a great background music to some other artistic ventue, say a Stanley Kubrick film?

I don't have a synth, but I definitely used Moogerfoogers with my TV200. It should be a great amp for that, if a little short on headroom.

Consider an OR120, too.
