What's on you pedalboard and what do you use it for?
As per the title:
- Boosts?
- OD/Dist?
- Modulation?
- Others?
And what context do you use them in? Originals? Covers?
Do you use your modulations for small parts only, or a lot for ambient stuff?
And what pedal do you value the most?

Re: What's on you pedalboard and what do you use it for?
Crybaby 535q-wah sounds
BB preamp- boost/drive
Fuzz factory clone-fuzz
EP booster- boost
POG 2- octaves
Strymon Möbius- phase, vibe, tremolo, chorus, flanger, rotary, filters, strangeness
Strymon Timeline-delay
Boss Fender 63 spring reverb-reverb
Tone Jones double looper- double effect loop /amp channel select
Use them for everything they're called for really, mostly experimenting and adding texture. Not prepared to part with my Strymons and POG 2. Love them a lot. If I could improve one it would be to add midi to the POG for switching presets. As I've reached my 30s I've noticed my eyesight going and I can't read what preset the LEDs are on!

Re: What's on you pedalboard and what do you use it for?
Polytune - The secrete to my sound. (have to stay in tune you know)
Behringer Ultra Shifter Harmonizer- only on the board when recording bass lines on guitar
Blackout Effectors Fix'd Fuzz - Used mostly with the bloom and shade switches on as an
OD/colour boost
Black Arts Toneworks Black Forrest OD - Main OD used on both clean and OD amp settings.
Tech 21 Blonde - Used as a clean channel (through the OR15) by setting drive and vol virtually off.
Line 6 M9 - Used through the fx loop mostly for delay, reverb, phaser, and experimenting both with
sounds and with the looper for writing purposes

Boss TU-3 Tuner
Crybaby 535Q Wah
ProCo Turbo Rat (used mainly for my Twin Reverb, TH100 may make it obsolete )
MXR Phase 90
Boss DD-5 Delay
Orange FS-1
I used to have 2 complete pedal boards and some rack units but the older I get the more minimalist approach I have. Truthfully, the new stuff I'm writing I could do do with just the TH100 and the FS-1.

EP boost- clean boost
Java Boost- clean, but with some hair
Pro Rat- unclean boost
Cry Baby-only for 2 or 3 songs
Line 6 delay- the big green one, forget the model- a little delay and modulation, and wacky reverse
Ernie Ball Volume pedal-ambient swells and faux steel guitar and violin

Have you checked out the new EHX HOG2? You can get an additional food controller for up to 100 presets and it comes with an expression pedal, but from the looks of it, it does a lot of the stuff that the pog series does and a lot more. great for ambience and adding texture.Jondog wrote:Crybaby 535q-wah sounds

Re: What's on you pedalboard and what do you use it for?
Boss TU-2 ("The big tuna")
EHX Crying Tone (The wah. I picked it for the no-moving-parts-or-pots feature because I was sick of fixing regular wahs.)
MXR ZW44 (Overdrive, always on for playing lead. Output at half, Tone just under half, Gain at half. It's fantastic for getting sustain without altering the tone much.)
Earthquaker Organizer (Octave/organ simulator. Best used on the clean channel, and surprisingly good with the OD in front of it. You can get some endlessly sustaining violin sounds, or do some organ-like chording.)
ISP Decimator (Noise gate, one of the best purchases I've ever made. It quiets any hum and pedal noise and doesn't cut my sustain or tone. It's a wonderful thing playing extremely loud and being able to stop on a dime and hear perfect silence.)
In the FX loop I have...
MXR Phase 90 (I used to use it in front of the amp, but I really love how powerful it sounds in the FX loop. It really grabs the whole sound and pops out at you like, "Holy heck! That's a big phaser!")
EHX Cathedral (Reverb. I like the accu spring set fairly short, just enough to warm up the tone and soften the release. I also love the hall reverb set to sound massive for certain things. It can make basic clean parts sound very surreal and spooky. I wish I had two, because the knob that changes between presets is very finicky and impossible to work with your foot live.)
MXR KFK 10 band EQ (So handy! With my TH30 I only tweak the 8Khz (down a bit) and 16Khz (down about 3/4) to reduce the fizz a touch.)
TC Electronic Ditto (For when I feel loopy. Great for working on riffs, strumming a chord to solo over, finding harmonies, or just listening back to your playing and critiquing yourself.)
And for power, I use a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2 Plus. It got rid of the ground hum I used to get powering my pedals with individual adapters, and I swear my pedals (especially the overdrive) sound brighter and more lively. It's hard to fork over $180 for a power supply, but I think it's a solid long-term investment that I'll use for many years.

TC Electronic G-System
Mojo Hand FX Iron Bell #001 (Loop 1)
Jam Pedals Rattler (Loop 2)
Two Mission Engineering EP-1 TC Expression pedals for Global volume and Expression (Wah, Mod etc)
I also have a Pete Cornish SS-3 on order. Will hopefully be here in 8 months.
So far the G-System is my most valued however the Iron Bell is amazing.
I use it for psychedelic garage rock, kind of in the vein of The Birthday Party and Grinderman.

Re: What's on you pedalboard and what do you use it for?
That's my whole point, I'm gassing for pedals right now and trying to work on making up a pedal board. So I'm trying to figure out what might be of use to me and what I should look to include.hitgar wrote:Your turn.Les Paul Lover wrote:As per the title:

At the moment my basic collection consists of :
- 80s guyatone sustainer - compresses and gives more sustain. Its main function to me is a brilliant clean boost with loads of sparkle
- 90s Hendrix wha, pots need changing
- CC transparent overdrive: brillant pedal, love the low gain max volume settings for lead boosts. At medium gain and the lows rolled of, it turns my AD15 into a Marshall JCM type crunch.
- Electronic Australia circuit based vintage tremolo. Brilliant 60s circuit, with 2 footswitchable speed control, and volume too. With the volume maxed there's a great dirty clipping on the repeats.
So that's where I'm at and my favorite are the tremolo and theCoolCat transparent overdrive.
I'm looking for a delay now, perhaps a phaser, tempted by green rhino too......
