anybody play these? I've been wanting a hollowbody for years and have always been thinking es335, but obviously the Sheraton's are much less expensive. how are their stock pups? thinking about swapping them out for some 57 classics or maybe some sd 59s. want to run it through an OR15. Played one for the first time last night with a '13 sg standard and loved what I heard. those new sg's have the 57's in them and it sounded heavenly.

Re: sheraton
I have a Dot, and the build quality and finish on that is remarkable. The pickups can be a bit muddy sounding, though i can live with that. I will assume the Sheratons are fairly similar or can only be better.
Re: sheraton
The Sheratons are a nice step up from the dot. My personal favourite is the Casino. Very lively sound acoustically. Will produce more feedback though as it's completely hollow.
Re: sheraton
go for the old models made in korea! they are by far better guitars than the new ones imo.
i have one made in 91 and it´s amazing....but i changed the stock pickups for toneriders.
the original ones were a bit muddy.
i friend of mine has a very nice dot made in korea.....also a sweet guitar.

I believe the new MIC Sheratons have mini humbuckers which I think are a bit brighter. Yeah, would love to try one too.
Some of the guitars coming out of China are very good so I wouldn't be put off looking at one of these. However the old adage " try before you buy" very much holds true, I certainly wouldn't buy one without playing and checking it over but in fairness that can be said of any guitar.
Ok a different guitar but my Epi IBJL Casino sounds fantastic through my Dual Terror.
Let us know how this progresses

Gigged my Sheraton for the first time the other day!
'95 Samick Sheraton. I put a trapeze on it, but the pickups are standard ad it sounds great through the AC30. I can sound absolutely massive through a R30 as well.
Definitely trumps a standard Epi dot I think.
