"revolutionary, groundbreaking innovation"

Post by Jondog » Tue Jan 15, 2013 2:31 am

Any guesses?

Orange has broken cover to reveal that it will be announcing a "revolutionary, groundbreaking innovation" at the 2013 Winter NAMM show
NAMM 2013: Believe it or not there are less than eight weeks to go until the start of the 2013 Winter NAMM show.

This being the case, it's no surprise that the big MI manufacturers are already finalising their product launches, and Orange has broken cover to reveal that it will be announcing a "revolutionary, groundbreaking innovation".

What this is remains to be seen, but we're told that it will "amaze and excite the audio world". The company also claims that this innovation represents a "world first".

Of course, pre-show hyperbole is all part of the fun, but Orange seems particularly bullish about this announcement.

Solar powered mini amp? (Orange = the new green!)

Plectrum holder built into every amp?

Blue Orange? (Judging by the forum lately... :P)

Goes to 13?

Hard copy owners manuals?

Bass amp with built in drum machine. (Easier than drums with built in bassist!)

Amp with full fault tracing self diagnosis. (My money on this one! They could always call it 'Orangeampy's autotune'!)

not sure, but judging by the popularity of their past "revolutionary, groundbreaking innovations" (DIVO, OPC) i'm not sure how far we'll see that go...

i think a Rocker 30 clean channel with a tone knob and reverb with pretty groundbreaking, though ;)

DIVO is pretty groundbreaking in and of itself... I have to get one at some point soon....

Looking forward to seeing what's coming - and wishing I could get time off to go to NAMM!

Judging from that, and that alone, my guess is that it will not be an amplifier.

Note how it says it will "shake the audio world" that's an odd term to use if you are talking about amps, or even guitars.

Though of course there are audio amplifiers too. Not getting back into PA are they? :|

I'll bet it's some kind of software. Either that or it's some kind of amp that's neither transistor nor tube, though I don't know what that would be...

Another point: how much ground needs to be broken in the audio world? My amps are all perfect the way they are, some of them could even benefit from winding back the clock to older technology.

It has to be an amp with a beer tap included.

Tone and beer on tap, what could be better? Not only will we be able to discuss NOS valve, but also which keg gets the best tone out of your amp!!!!!

Genius. Those Orange people are brilliant!!!!!!!

They've obviously invented a time machine that is powered by midhump.
