Post by Taronja » Sun Nov 18, 2012 9:54 pm

I think it was this guy...

or this guy

Who do you think is responsible?

It may be them....

Certainly I'd say it wasn't the beatles in any case. They are, very erroneously in my opinion, often credited with having created it. But Rock'n Roll was happening, all, IMO, in the footsteps of the early blues, such as howling wolf and the likes.

Frankly, between 4/12 blues and r'n'r early beats, it;s very much the same - just a small evolution.

What i'd say is that it was happening. In many places, by many people. I'm not sure if crediting someone, that was there at the right time & place, for it makes much sense. It was just a tide happening, slow revolution surely unfolding onto the world..... ;)

Great job of "pick syncing "as they aren't plugged into anything. Love that Dano Longhorn.

Certainly wasn't white dudes copying the black musicians of the day. Those guys may have been the first mainstream rockers but they definitely did not invent rock-n-roll.

IMO the white man didn't really steal rock n roll, they still the blues and put more of a white man rythm to it and that is what was known as rock n roll.

Rock n Roll is just basically sped up Blues, isn't it? I'd say Robert Johnson invented it when he sold his soul to the devil.

+1 Bro!!

Another major proponent of the style would be Chuck Berry. Chuck Berry is the Godfather of Rock N Roll like James Brown is the Godfather of Funk!
