New band using Orange amps... Ghost

Post by Zemyr » Wed Oct 24, 2012 8:29 pm

Hi, everyone! I'm new here, this is my 1st post.

Have you guys listened to this band? They're from Sweden. The sound is a rock/metal with a '70s feel (Blue Oyster Cult, Thin Lizzy kinda thing) mixed up with Mercyful Fate. The show is very theatrical, the singer uses a satanic pope robe and the band uses monks clothes... very sinister.

I really dig this band! Very nice melodies and tones. And, watching they're stuff on youtube, I found they're using lotta Oranges! Check 'em out.

I can see an OR50 on the left, the bass player is also using one... and the right side guitar player is using two heads, all of them with matching cabs. In onther video I saw a black head (maybe a TV50 or RV50) on the side of the keyboardist.

Great music.

New band using Orange amps... Ghost

I'm sure some people here will find them gimmicky... which I admit they are. But I like them anyways, fun band to watch live and like you said, nice melodies and tones indeed!

They're f...ng creepy! No doubts about it, man!
But the sound is very nice to listen to... Straight-on guitar sound, ballsy bass tone, a certain gloomy atmosphere, catchy tunes... hope they can record a second album soon!

Way too gimmicky and bite Mercyful Fate too hard, they really popular in the states actually, but overall a good band. It's not my thing, but not something that's going to make me cover my ears and throw my shoe at the stereo in attempts to turn it off or anything. :D

They really butchered Here Comes the Sun, which is a point against them since I'm a huge Harrison fan.

GHOST rocks. I see them like a contemporary Arthur Brown, crazy pile of poop but it sounds good imo
