That's an interesting one - i always find it amazing how different the RV dirty channel sounds with the volume cranked right up. That #4 head could be a winner in that respect!
Does it clean up nicely when rolling down the guitar volume with the amp cranked?

I only played it about 10 min
But yeah the master volume dirties it up a lot, much more than the RV. The preamp gain is almost identical to my ears so far.
Almost all amps n pedals clean up, the Jim root does it too. Although its just a bit less chimey than the RV when doing that

I see another happy owner of the Jim Root amp.What speaker are you using?I have the PPC-112 with this amp and sounds a bit boxy to me i might try with open back or even a speaker change.
