Just ordered a new toy!!
So after a few days of deliberation i've finally bit the bullet and blown my entire months paycheck (I'm 16 and still in school) on a new guitar!
After realising the supreme versatility of 355 style guitars as-well as how cool they look and after enlessly playing my singers ebony version in the studio i knew it was finally time to get one!
I will post pics when it gets delivered

Hey, congrats!
It's always good to hear when youth save up their hard earned cash to get something they want. If that's turns out to be a great player, which many Epiphones are, you will have a lot of options to upgrade pickups/hardware later on too. But for the mean time, and since you blew all your cash , enjoy that sucker out of the box!

Way to go. And you didn't go with the prototypical ibanez or some 7 string pos. Classy move. Hope u enjoy that music maker.

Re: Just ordered a new toy!!
Nice looking choice. Hope it's a good 'un. Epi dots are always tempting. If I was a better guitarist I'd have probably grabbed one years ago!
Andy.
One of the best blues rock players I ever saw live played a Lucille through a vintage OR amp. The way he continually changed his sounds on the fly with that rotary switch and his tone / volume pots fascinated me. Great player with a great guitar + amp = great sounds.Dark Helmet wrote:ah yes... the broke student years.

I've been eyeing the 355's for a couple of years now. Buying something because it's a good deal is pleasing, but throwing down all your money because it looks cool is liberating.

this is so true.
until you realize that you've got a short in your guitar cable and need a new one but have ZERO money.

Congrats, I don't know what it is, but I always find the Epiphone semi-hollows to be better playing guitars then alot of the Les Paul and SG models.

That's because Li Guangdong oversees semi-hollow production at the Epiphone factory. He's the Paul Reed Smith of Southeastern China .Jondog wrote:Congrats, I don't know what it is, but I always find the Epiphone semi-hollows to be better playing guitars then alot of the Les Paul and SG models.

Aha, glad to know you guys approve! It should be delivered tomorrow I had an epi SG as my first 'proper' guitar and have loved it for years, although i can't deny the epi Dots are far superior in playability and build quality.
