They reflect light pretty well so it's not hard to spot them.. and they are sold in color too for those who worry about missing them.

These are acrylic picks yes? There is a guy in Calif USA making acrylic picks, company called Gravity picks quite expensive though. If you like the idea of acrylic picks, he will send you a sample one if you email him. Looking forward to trying mine when it arrives.

How much of this is hype & how much is subjective remains to be seen. From what I have read, people seem to think is that acrylic picks produce a brighter tone ( I use brass picks for this usually) and have a much quieter "glassy" feel on the strings which makes for better control & less of the chirpy sounds that nylon picks often produce. It has been reported that these picks also become quite "tacky" when warm, making slippage less of a worry.

I would second the above except for the "remains to be seen"... it can be seen within 5-30 seconds of playing

If feels VERY good in your fingers, doesn't fall! IMO makes me play faster.. i rarely just pick up my guitar and rip but i did last night... it just gave me that extra boost.. i dunno..

Santana uses them exclusively.. and others will soon follow i'm sure. it's acrylic.. and about $4 a pop..

I got a set of the acrylic Gravity picks a while ago for free as a demo promo.

I didn't like them too much to be honest. They felt great to play, and the tone coming from the guitar was a little brighter, but the sound of the pick hitting the string made a very brief high pitched buzzing sound that was unbearable for me. it was like the sound a guitar string makes when it is buzzing out on a fret if your action was too low. Painful.

Its funny that the claim is a brighter sound. I have been trying really hard to not use a pick lately as I love the darker tone and bloom you get from your fingers. I also like the contrast strumming patterns of using your nail then skin. I have built a really ugly callous under one of my nails though that kind of hurts

If you thought the ones i have are massive.. what do you think about this?

In all honesty i use .8-1mm tortex picks.. i wasn't sure if i were going to dig it.. but then i picked up the Screamer.. and wailed on the guitar for a good while. it's a different feel with these picks.. can't explain.

I've only tried the small pointed ultra light picks and I bought them when they were on special for around $2.50 a pick IIRC.

I love them, I was looking for a mix between the dunlop yellow/orange tortex picks and the jazz III picks as both had stuff I liked and disliked about them. The v-picks seem to have all the good points between the two as far as I'm concerned! They are easy to hold and I don't drop them very often at all, they have a brighter tone which I like and they are much better for strumming than the jazz III's were.

They are a pain to find when you drop them though! I work away from home and the carpet at the place I stay in is an ugly blue with a few other colours through it and it takes me ages to find them when I drop them on that stuff! I would think on one-colour carpet or hard-flooring they might be a little easier to locate...hopefully
