Anyone participate in 'movember'?

Post by Icarus » Tue Nov 01, 2011 7:26 pm

I shall be sporting the filthiest handlebar mustache for the whole of November and playing along.

the idea is to grow a mustache and wear it proudly for a month - genius idea eh? I think it maybe more of an Austrailian/Brit thing but it may happen everywhere for all I know. It's basically in support of prostate cancer to raise awareness etc.

I just like having an excuse to look like a sleazy bast**d for 4 weeks.

Awesome!

Although I support "movember" 12 months out of the year.

Its pretty big here in Canada too...though I dont take part because mine grows painfully slow and if I shaved it would take me forever to get it back :).

On that note...anyone ever hear of Julyna?

I've always heard it called "No-Shave November". there's that and the Manly Month of March. Really, i think we should think of one for every month :)

i would, but my genes don't allow anything but long, scraggly crap to come out of my skin. i remember i tried to grow a beard once...unsuccessfully. which is why I don't own a Thunderverb ;)

I'll stick with my sideburns.
I have no desire to sport a hipster mustache or be a dirty beardo.

I won't be doing it again since my woeful hndle bar I grew last year.
Not only did I look like a gay biker, but I also got stopped at every immigration point on my flight to and back from Thailand to Australia and scrutinised by armed security (my passport photo has a clean shaven me with fluoro red hair. Nowdays I sport a shaved head and the handle bar didn't help matters  ).

I find the correlation between Prostate Cancer and Handlebar Moustaches to be a bit curious. It must be related to Freddie Mercury Poisoning  .

Can't do the stache. Actually, I've never grown one, and probably never will.

It is No-shave November, Decembeard, Facial Hair February, and Mustache March. I have always proposed Adolf April, but it has never caught on.

I plan on not shaving this month. I do have thick hair on my face, but unfortunately it stops growing after it reaches about 1cm in length.

I am participating. I found out about it from some Australian friends though, so it might not be that big here. I did no shave November the last two years

Funny that this thread came up since I just started growing a beard over the last couple of weeks. I've progressed past the terrorist phase and am now in Greek gigolo territory.

I have some friends who live closer to the beach who've done a mustache contest that coincides with Shark Week. They all end up looking like either porn stars or truckers.
