Have anyone ever tried to modify OB to CB with selfmade rear panel? Any comments?

Re: PPC212 or OB
No word on the mod but I just received and have played out a few nights with my 4x10. It is without question the best cab I have ever used. My list is pretty good. An original white jcm800 4x12, jcm900 4x12, Jcm800 2x12, Jcm 4x10 cab. two fender 1x15 cabs. The bottom end is nice and crisp and the projection from a closed back cab is way better than I expected. I am running it with a TT 1x12 combo eventually an ad30 will sit on top but right now it has revamped my TT into a monster.

Would be nice to hear a comparison with a 412

no word on the back panel mod, but it would definitely make a difference. i think the best route to go would be to get a hinge attached so you can switch between open and closed on the fly. 'twould be the sh!t.
it is a bit smaller, particularly in depth (12" vs. 15") so it would have less bass response than the ordinary PPC (even with a closed back), but orange cabs are already deep and bassy as it is. it wouldn't kill you, especially if you're running it with your AD30TC at the same time

I don't know about a hinge, may get some rattle.jason41224 wrote:no word on the back panel mod, but it would definitely make a difference. i think the best route to go would be to get a hinge attached so you can switch between open and closed on the fly. 'twould be the sh!t.

Yeah definitely worth trying.jason41224 wrote:it wouldn't kill you, especially if you're running it with your AD30TC at the same time
But does anyone know why the smaller PPC212-COB is open back altogether, and not closed as every other Orange cabinets?

^for variety, i suppose. i don't know, i kinda wish they had one the size of the normal PPC (and vice verses, a closed back the size of the AD30 combo)
and bayta, true, i didn't think about rattle. some companies do have something like that, and it looks pretty nifty.

So you can stack it on a ppc4x10 of course. That is my plan anyway

Re: PPC212 or OB
Seems a no brainer to me. If you ordered a PPC212 then insist you are sent what you ordered, at the suppliers expense. I gave up trying to make good suppliers mistakes a long time ago. Letting it pass and accepting what they sent you even though it was not what you ordered sends the message that you as the customer can be fobbed off with whatever they decide to send you. If you wanted a PPC212 CB then make sure that is what you get.
All that said, I traded my 212 CB in for an OB for all the size and weight issues previously mentioned on here. That CB had awesome bottom end but my back will never be the same !!

Hmm, PPC410 seem to be also the same size with AD30TC combo, and closed back.hellagnar Brosevelt wrote: So you can stack it on a ppc4x10 of course. That is my plan anyway
Might definitely consider that too!
Any comments on PPC410 vs. PPC212 (OB)?
