I love it the way it is, but it may be simpler to just get a standalone reverb that fits your specific need and run it in the effects loop...
or send me your now worthless amp, I'll be nice and pay shipping....

Re: TV50 reverb mod?
What happens if you put a small piece of foam under the reverb tank springs, so its just touching them ? I was contemplating trying that out myself at some point.
The dual gang pot would be difficult as its PCB mounted.

The pots are bolted to the chassis, but PCB mounted inside. The voltage on the springs is not high at all. To reduce the reverb time you have to stop the springs from vibrating so long. I reckon a small piece of soft foam would help, no idea if its a common trick, I just thought it up. I will try at some point and see.

A shorter tank would be the easiest fix I reckon.

Re: TV50 reverb mod?
I believe that is correct. The length, and tension of springs is the decay factor. Probably worth a try to stuff a short length of rubber tube in the end of one of the springs to effectively shorten it. It is not hard to break a reverb mechanism, so I'd be super careful and be prepared to buy another if you screw it up.sizzlingbadger wrote:A shorter tank would be the easiest fix I reckon.

Re: TV50 reverb mod?
I had a play with my reverb tank today and its very hard to get it sound nice by dampening the springs. I think a replacement tank is the way to go. My Rockerverb has a Ruby RRVL3AB2C1B tank.
L = Long (17")
3 = springs
A = 8 ohm input
B = 2250 ohm output
2 = Medium Decay
C = insulated input / grounded output
1 = No Lock
B = Horizontal open face down
There are a few discussion on the interweb about Ruby vs Accutronics and some do say the Ruby is more like a hall reverb and is quite strong so maybe an Accutronics would be a bit more subtle.
