I made a Rocker 30 video.
So yes, it's my first tube-amp and I'm probably still honeymooning, but here it is anyway: http://youtu.be/fXc3QUPO5HA

Re: I made a Rocker 30 video.
Sounds great. Good video too. You play really well, I like your style.
I'd love a rocker for classic crunch but would be tempted to crank it all the time which my neighbours wouldn't love lol.

Nice video. Great sounding amp. If it can make a strat sound that good, it must be something special . Great playing, by the way, it sounds like you've been practicing.
Re: I made a Rocker 30 video.
Sounds very impressive!!! Good playing!!
What specs are that strat? I've never seen one like that and it looks nicely worn....

Re: I made a Rocker 30 video.
Well. It's complicated.
Let's see, it's a real parts-o-caster. I wanted this guitar to be the guitar that I don't have to take care of, whatever happens it just happens. I like that it's a guitar I can fight with too, makes me work harder since it has a lot of quicky 'problems' (which I find charming). That you guys seem to like it's sound is VERY amusing to me, since it's a really cheap and cobbled up design. But it works for me, and I like it.
- Cheap copy-stratbody, which I... uhm, stylised (NO, I did NOT relic it! That was never the intention. I only beat the f*ck out of it! I wanted it to look broken and abused.)
- All-Parts 70's neck, left unfinished. I like the unfinished feel, sure it gets dirty quite quickly but they're objects to use. And a neck is replaced easily anyway. The neckpocket is too wide btw, I filled that up with beer-coasters...
- GFS Dream180 for neckpickup, GFS Retrotron Liverpool in the bridge. I did something wrong in the pickup wiring that results in the neck-position being a 95%-ish killswitch, the middle position is the neck-pickup, the bridge is regular. I don't mind, I love quirkyness!
- The bridge is a 'Diego Deluxe Tremelo' replacement, which I have sitting tightly flush against the body. Lot's of tension there because I use 5 springs in the back. Oh and I lost the backplate btw.

I believe it's a U profile. Just keep in mind I'm a short dude, my paws are tiny.macg1 wrote:yes +1 on the strat. looks like it has a giant thick neck on it! Sweet!

Re: I made a Rocker 30 video.
thanks for the details on the guitar! that is one of the cool thing about fender style guitars. they can be put together quite easily and for cheap compared to Fender prices for comparable quality.

Re: I made a Rocker 30 video.
Oh but believe me, I put this thing together really CHEAP! It wouldn't surprise me if the body is multiplex or some other 'bad tone-wood' haha. But yeah, that is part of the appeal of Fender guitars, they're easy to personalise and I don't feel guilty abusing them. Next guitar is going to be a Jazzmaster (Warmoth body, All-Parts neck. That warmoth/jazzmaster topic on this forum inspired me)... we shall see how that ends
Here's a few photos of the guitar in action.
