Good riddance to a really bad role model for the kids of today.

Must be hard being a kid today looking up to people like that and pete docherty.

So to me it was a happy day knowing my son won't see that loser when he grows up. Just wait for docherty now, can't be long really can it?

+1. She had enough chances to clean it up. Maybe I haven't seen the good side of her (if there is one) But all I ever saw was a coked up drunk, premadona girl who didn't believe rules applied to her and her jail bait boyfriend. Good voice, horrible disgrace it was given to her. It's now been taken back. I understand that drug problems are just that, problems, but she pretty much promoted drug use and making it seem like its not a problem taking hits on stage, advertising it to the press and other ridiculous antics.

Talented but no role model no.
I have some sympathy for her though... the press over here didn't let her be for about 2 years.
She would be in the paper like every single day until they dropped her in favour of Cheryl Cole :)
Paul.

Looks like "they" were right when "they" tried to make her go to rehab.
Maybe she should have said yes yes yes.
Decent voice but a complete shambles of a woman.

Honestly, I don't think musicians need to be roll models, that's why they're musicians. I loved her music, but I wasn't inclined to go out and smoke crack because I was a fan. I don't think anyone is going to run out and do drugs because a musician they liked did them, and if they do, well then they weren't really taught how stupid that was. Is your son not seeing her alive really gonna make him turn out to be any better of a human being? It just seems kind of cold.

Yikes. Those are terrible things to say.

Attitudes like that could cause much more "damage" to a kid then seeing people who are all strung out and being told and shown how bad drugs can be. Perhaps you were coming on a little string and didn't mean it. :?

If that's what made it a good day, I feel sorry for you.

This is sad. Thanks for the link (Pino Palladino rocking the bass on there, too:)

If one were to insist on looking to a crackwhore like Amy for moral guidance, then one would deserve to be a crackwhore themselves in my book. I certainly wouldn't wish someone dead for that reason. That's pretty f'd up. If there is any moral here- it is that addiction is a disease that needs to be treated, so yes, Amy, you really should have gone to rehab.
