Just a few pics of my assembled Tele with the burned body for those who are interested.
I will almost certainly change the hardware at some point - I'd like to get some little steam valve-type things to use as control knobs. A new scratchplate would also be nice, perhaps tortoiseshell or metal. I decided against antiquing the neck as I'm worried about ruining its playability!
It smells like a barbequeue

Very nice finished product. I would actually seriously consider purchasing one like that if I came across it in a music store.
Oh yeah, like the addition of the cat on the switch plate.

I don't think I ever would've either if the body wasn't already cosmetically messed up!

What kind of neck pickup is that?
I think you should get a leather pickguard and have a flame tooled onto it, that would be really sweet!

I was just thinking about a tooled/carved pickguard actually!
The neck pickup is a Rio Grande Muy Grande, hence the large polepieces. Really nice fat, open and warm sound. I rarely use my neck pickup though, in fact only a couple of songs.

Looking great! Good decision to leave the neck alone. If it were mine, I'd buy some aged vintage style 3 saddle bridge and some brass/brass/steel saddles. Give it more of a steam punk vibe, IMO. Looks awesome though, Tragedy it's backwards.......

Interesting. I'd slap a plain black or brown pickguard on it. Brass saddles indeed.
