I've already stated Bluebell does my favorite. There's some shoppe or dairy that makes it white instead of green. Can't remember who, but it was really, really good tasting

I found the Blue Bell's radioactive green color a bit off-putting. I tend to like Breyer's stuff best, but the "Publix" store brand is the best mass-produced mint chocolate chip that I've tried.

It's true. Blue Bell's mint chocolate chip does look like a R.A. bulk hauler toppled over.

I will concur with Billy's assessment- gelato is the shizniggledollywaggle. Only problem is most places have fake gelato, like Rita's- spewww. If they advertise it as "low fat" gelato, um, the point has been missed. Outside of Pittsburgh is a great place called Glen's Custard that has the closest thing to gelato I've had this side of Italy.

Otherwise, I'm a huge Breyer's fan. Specifically Cookies and Cream or Strawberry. Haaaaaaagn Daaaaaaz and BJ's is way too dense. I should be able to greedily inhale my ice cream in a scant few seconds, not chip at it with a spoon for an hour.

Dude gelato is gods gift to italian people who then gave gods gift to the world. I was in italy and I was in an orgasmic state when I realized how good gelato is. It's pretty hard to find where I live now, and I've had some good stuff too, but nothing compares.

I have limited access to ice cream these days due to the veganism, but if you're in the LA or Pasadena area, KindKreme has a shop full of awesome flavors, really good stuff including soft serve. They even put some in between some vegan cookies from Babycakes Bakery. SOOOO good. Anything coffee or cookie flavored wins me over.

Also, Interim Cafe in Santa Monica has a great soft serve.

As for store bought stuff, anything made with Coconut Milk is really good.
