Thunderverb 50 vs. Rockerverb 100- What's your take?

It's not completely different. TV sounds a bit more vintage but is also capable of modern sounds. The RV sounds more modern but I get really nice vintage tones out of it. When I lower the highs and push the mids and the lows the dirty channel gets that fuzzy flavor. The biggest difference is the dedicated clean channel on the RV and the shape knob channel on the TV. I guess the TV50 has a bit tighter bass than the RV50, but you're using the 100 watt version which has a bigger bass response...especially if you put KT88s in it, so I guess your Rockerverb will push more bass than the TV50.

i was gonna say go with a line 6 spider III
but seriously. i didnt post in time, but of course my suggestion would be the TV50. not because i have one, though i can certainly vouch for its capabilities, but because it, to me, accurately fit the sounds you described (during a brief lookover). you will not regret it, sir, and welcom to the recently exploding TV50 club!

A TV200 (100w set) fits perfectly well with a JCM800 in my band (C# tuning). That's our best gig layout so far. Both guitars have it’s own tonal space and can be distinguished even when we overdub lead parts.
