What is up with the front man? Is he too cool to were a band t-shirt?

Really though, any band wearing their own shirts is pretty lame, unless you're so poor that is all you can afford to not be naked on stage. But, really "Turds of Misery".....I like "Fecal Matter" better. Or in this case "Turds from Nerds"

Yeah, it is not the SG's fault. I feel sorry for it, since it is such a great guitar. Even though it is a Norlin.

Whoa, good eye! I had to look Norlin up, sounds like a crappy guitar.

Not all Norlin era guitars were bad. The SG's probably suffered least during this period, as really the only MAJOR thing that changed on them was the voluted 3 piece necks...this was done to make them stronger. Of course there were other changes too along with a lot more variations on the SG.

I think the worse idea during the Norlin era was to make some of the LP's with pancake bodys, or several layers of mahogony, then the maple cap. I've played norlin era LP deluxes that were pretty good guitars though.

As for the Norlin SG's, I just don't like the feel of the neck mostly. Every one I've played today had really really flat frets. I would have liked to played a new one without the worn frets to give it a fair assessment. Some of them had walnut bodies, which is pretty cool, though. As for looks, I don't like how the neck sits right on the neck pickup, I don't like the rectangle inlays, and I didn't like most of the finishes at that time either, except for the walnut.

To each his own though.
Sincerely,

Can't believe no one has posted Winger yet.

Kip Winger's Farah Faucet hair may have been the point where 80's metal jumped the shark. I hope it never ever comes back.
