Re: SG remake
It looks pretty good, but I think you should get a humbucker cover for your pickup. I think it'll class it up a lot!

Beautiful work. Did you get that pickup from WD Music? It looks like one of the Kent Armstrong Filtertron models.

Re: SG remake
Nice- looks awesome.
What about putting in a 'stealth' pickup in the route and wiring it in? Would maintain that look as well as maybe a cool sound!

Yes its a special.jason41224 wrote:that's awesome! what model was it? a Gibson Special?
Since it had two humbuckers I´m not sure how I´m gonna do about the knobs. Right now I only use volume and tone for bridge pickup and the switch for muting.indianDYsummer wrote:What do your 4 knobs do?
It´s a TV Jones filtertron so you almost got it. It´s the only humbucker that I have tried so for that works for me. Bought it directly from TV Jones.Randy Bass wrote:Beautiful work. Did you get that pickup from WD Music? It looks like one of the Kent Armstrong Filtertron models.

Re: SG remake
Stealth pickup would be adding a humbucker UNDER the pickguard with no cutout in the neck position!
like this Fender Esquire:

Dude, I really really like that mod! I've been thinking of doing something very similar to my SG since I never use the neck pup. I was planning on removing all of the knobs and the pup selector switch, and keeping the one volume knob for the bridge pup, but moving it up to where the neck pup volume knob is so that it's closer to where I'm strumming.

Yeah, I´m thinking of removing all the other knobs and just have 1 volume and switch for muting. Should I just leave the holes open or should i plug them?myboss57 wrote:Dude, I really really like that mod! Re: SG remake
I don't know. I'm interested to see how it looks with the remaining knobs removed, so please post pics when/if you do that. If it's not too strange looking, then I'd say it'd be good maybe to leave them available - if you ever want to revert it back or sell it as regular SG again.mikel wrote:Yeah, I´m thinking of removing all the other knobs and just have 1 volume and switch for muting. My thoughts, when and if I do my similar mod, would be to leave the holes. But again, it may look weird with them there.
