What's the best OD/Dist/Fuzz pedal?

Post by blackcloud45 » Thu Jul 09, 2009 6:02 pm

Guys, What's the best Tube Screamer type pedal? There are sooo many out there to choose from...

Update:

I have since come to realize that I really didn't know what I wanted and am currently trying out as many dirt pedals as I can.

+1 the TS808 reissue is the only pedal that tends to always stay on my board!

Didn't care much for the Fulldrive, but the Maxon version of the TS9 is great. And I recently tried a Lovepedal Eternity (supposedly a TS9 clone) and I think I'll be getting that.

the fulldrive is just..... well its not impressive, but it's not bad either. it's just... a pedal

my fav TS clone has been and probably always will be the Sparkle Drive from Voodoo.

You try the Mosfet version?

Funny because I actually feel that way about the TS9...it's OK..but the 808 is much better..and the Fulldrive. Different strokes.

I had a Fulldrive II and an OCD. I used to like the FD but I find Fulltone pedals too harsh / sterile now.

So, the TS808 would be superior to the TS9? I'd be using it on a Fender Deluxe Reverb. I just want a little extra for some slide playing, not full bore rock.

I use mine with my Deluxe...it's like they were meant for each other. My take on the difference between the 808 and TS9 is the TS9 sounds more hi-fi if you know what i mean.

I had the limited Fulldrive II Mosfet, and still didn't like it too.

Fulltone boxes are either bland and gutless, or shrill and obscene.

Well, I'll say I don't like it on any other amps besides my Deluxe and DC-30...but my Fulldrive sounds pretty damn awesome on those.

Just to clarify, I didn't have the Fulltone at the same time as the Deluxe.
