This one looks just like mine OR80 at front. I doesnt have any text, only symbols for the inputs, gain etc. Is mine from the same era then? About 71?

Serial number 027 Orange Head Graphics only plexi

Post by mrbilly » Sat Mar 28, 2009 5:22 pm

Anyone have any info on what year this might have been made?

It's my Orange PA120 with the serial number 027. Unfortunatley at first glance the serial number seems to have disappeared but when you look closely you can make out an imprint of the number 027. In fact if you zoom in on the photo of the rear you can actually make it out. It has the Plexi front panel with the Graphics only control symbols and also still has its original Mullards.

It was serviced about 6 months ago by John Chambers and it is now on his website at: http://www.chambonino.com/work/orange/orange3.html

Hi mrbilly. Nice amp!!! 8)

Early '70s, almost certainly '70 - '72. I'd suspect probably more likely to be towards the end of that period but sorry, can't be more precise than that. Couple of links for you though:

You get a wonderful view from the point of no return.
