Hi
there's a guy in my country that sells this 70's cab and claims it has v30's in it. Could that be true ? I thought V30's were made from 1986 and 70's cabs had Greenbacks...
cheers

Welcome Page_Hamilton. :)

'86 is right for the first V.30s - according to the Celestion site anyway.

Could well be a 70s cab with replacement speakers. Would be a very logical choice...

Hallo a.hun ! Hoe gaat het ?:) Ik heb 6 jaar in Ned. gewoond.
Back to english otherwise they won't understand us:)
This guy told me that the speakers are ORIGINAL, so that they were from the 70's. That's why I'm confused.
Thanks for your help.

Yeah, can't be original if they are V.30s. Doesn't make them bad of course, just a little suspicious. Best result IMO would indeed be Tibors suggestion. I'm a big G12H30 fan, especially for Orange amps. V.30s are fine too, though not so good with some more up front sounding (upper midrange strong) amps. They can get too harsh with the rather peaky V.30.

If you fancy the cab you could probably sell working drivers easily enough and fit whatever you want. Great cabs of course, and should work with most great speakers.
