Orange AD30R (recorded Jan 06) re-valved with EH valves - miced up with an SM57, gain on max, volume about half, using a LP standard (with burstbuckers) and a bit of wah for the lead break (Jim Dunlop cry baby).

Hello all,
I'd like to add to the chronicles of Orange tone by submitting this link of my band's MySpace page:
http://www.myspace.com/bosola
All three songs on there are from our EP recorded with the following gear:
Orange AD140HTC
Self-made 2x12 cabinet with Weber VST Ceramic Chicago speakers
'71 Gibson SG Standard
ZOOM TM-01 Tri Metal
Cheers,
Tick

Just like to say the OTR 80 link to the BBC website is no longer working. A more up to date sample can be found at www.myspace.com/thejunglists. All the guitar is a Strat straight into the orange. The OTR 80 combo also appears to be a wrongly labeled 120. Cheers.

<br />Hello,
I bought an Orange Crush 30R Combo a few days before christmas. I was pretty unsure if I would like that amp, because I had absolutely no idea how it would sound like (I already owned a Roland Micro Cube and just wanted something "bigger"). As firebird1999us wrote in the first post, soundclips "are no substitute for hearing/playing it in person", but to be honest: I just ordered it without playing first. However, I haven't regret to do so
Well, since there aren't any soundclips available for Orange Crush Combos (but were requested by a few of you guys), I thought I record some samples for you. I'm pretty new to E-Guitar, so don't expect anything fancy.
You can find them here: http://www.keen-web.de/projects/orangeamps/. The page still looks pretty poor, but I plan to extend and improve it, i.e. add more soundclips with different settings of the amp and the guitar.
Hope you enjoy,
Christian

Could be wrong but aren't you supposed to use the high impedence input for you guitar? your site says you are using the low impedence input.
<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">
They're just two different gain inputs, same as the larger Oranges.
Oh yeah... my clips....

Hey,
just want to note that I changed the URL to my site: From now on it's http://www.keen-web.de/projects/guitar. Although I changed it in my original post already, I thought I post it here again, because the old, now invalid, URL was quoted two times. Oh, and does firebird still update the frontpage of this thread? Looks like he hasn't done so for several month...

If you do feel up to playing in the store, we need to define some of the terms that you will find labeled on the amplifiers and what some of the jacks on the front do. Some of the amps in the higher end of this category may have jacks/controls on the back, too. On the front the amplifier, you will find one or two 1/4" input jacks labeled input. With two jacks, they are either labeled high and low or 0db and -6db. The high/0db input is for guitars with passive pickups, and the low/-6db is for guitars with active pickups, which have a higher output signal compared to passive pickups. The one, lower input is padded to help control input distortion, which can sound pretty bad. I have found that the only difference is in volume with transistor amps, but your experiences may differ.

American Dlx Strat (mostly neck pickup) into Keeley Compressor; Javaboost kicks in at 1:15; DD20 in effects loop of Rockerverb 50; some whammy.
Please excuse my sloppy playing - let me know what you think of the tone - Gilmourish?
Hope you enjoy...

Here's another one I did this morning... Essentially it's the same setup -- more humbucker this time from the HSS strat, and more playing with the whammy octave setting and a little bit of effects added at the recorder - not much.

These recordings are all using a early 70s OR120 coming out of vintage orange PA 4x12s. The guitar is a 65 Fender Jaguar. Overdriven parts use the Taki Drive. I generally have my mid boost all the way to the left.

Here's my contribution to this site: I just spent a few hours recording this song. It just came together today, from a little riff I'd been chewing on for a while to a full on rock song.

I think the Rocker 30 combo (I own one and used it in this recording) is wonderful. Plenty of power, and it's still low enough to crank up to juicy tone goodness without blasting you out of your house. Rocker 30 all the way.

Here's a clip of my Rocker 30 combo amp with an Eminence red fang..I do not adjust the amp at all for the different sounds I get, I do it with Les Paul standard volume or coil splitting and my delay and or phase shifter. This is recorded entirely with the Dirty Channel. Please note my playing is a bit sloppy, I need the metronone in my head repaired and I'm not neccessarily trying to nail the studio sound nor, play the lick exactly as the original artist played it. But I hope you get the idea. It's a great amp.

The solo parts in the song "to be rescued" were recorded using the gibson les paul double cut through an orange ad30htc and a marshall 1960ax loaded with the celestion green backs.
The mic was the AKG 414 i guess... the mixing console was an SSL...
it sounds good to me.. check it out, tell me what u think...
