I'm the owner of an Orange GT120 Head with the serial number #891.
I have bought the head in 1978 from a german distributor.
The #-number and also the model 'GT 120' is written by hand with a fine brushstroke in a black laquer. Underneath the original orange laquer was used to retouch the orange surface.

Was this a usual method of serialisation?
Is there a list to define the year of building of this head?
Any comments?

Hi, here I'm again,

sorry, I have given you the wrong specs in my dating question regarding my Orange amp with my first posting.

The hand-written Model is 'OR GT 100'

The serial number is '#895', only three digits. I have also studied the unoffical page, but had not found anything about this 'OR GT 100'- model.
There is no black metal plate on the backside as I have seen it on some pics. It has not the plexi front, it looks like the graphic series with images and text.

Hi, I had to give some more specifications to my thread:

The Orange Head OR GT 100 I have bought in November 1975
(found the delivery sheets).
The serial Number is #895. No metal plate on the back covering.

In a lot of pictures I've seen the last days the handwritten numbers were usual. But the model OR GT 100 I did not found.

After 20 years the top was not in use and after replacing the damaged 3A fuse it still works, but in a really strange order.

There was also a modification made in earlier days regarding an output reduction with only two tubes (6L6) and a primitive powerbrake was installed (only a big ceramic potentionmeter).

Now I wish to go back to the original state and wish to do some replacements, cause the condensators have bulbs.

But my question now is, where to get the right schematics for this model (OR GT 100) on which I can rely.

my guess is, it's a late OR120 modell...that GT I don't know what it means...

I will probably have a GRO100, that has a OA100c mark...

try with later OR120 schematics...maybe GT means GuiTar :)

GT-100 is a Orange/Matamp i believe. It's the early Or120 or a GRO100. I'm guessing that your amp is a Orange/Matamp[no voice of the world logo]. If so its probally 69-74. Of course if you bought it 75 you probally could guess that.

Hi, thanx for both of your inputs.
I have decided to shoot some pictures (outside/inside), but how and where to post the scans? Maybe I will send them to your e-mail directly. So we can discuss on better grounds.
