Maybe someone can help you date your Orange Amplifier?

Hi,

I bought an old Orange 4x12 a couple of months ago. And I wanna know when it´s made.

As you can see on the picture, it has black front, and the who sold it to me said they made them like that just before they shut down. Is it true?

On the back there´s a 15 ohm sign.

I can´t get it open cause it´s been painted black, cleaned and painted orange again, so the screwes can´t be seen.

Do someone know when it´s made?

Sorry about the crappy picture.

The seller wasn't bullsh!tting you.
They were made with black grille cloth and it's probably around '79.

Unfortunately there's no pictures of these cabs, but some on the combo of the same model..

Plug the cab to your 16 ohm output on the amplifier, it'll be perfectly fine. The older ratings were 7.5 ohms and 15 ohms.

I want to open it up to see the speakers. But since the screws are painted over I don´t where they are screwed.

If anyone else has a cab like mine, can you measure where the screws are located?

One way to do it is to remove one of the handles, then you'll be able to see the screws from inside.
