Not necessarily modded. My OR120M has a 'kettle' / 'euro' / 'computer' connector, (same thing you're referring to I reckon). Date tag of 10th Aug 1978, (it's a late one, anyone got a later 70's example?), and I bought it s/h in Mar 1980. No signs of modding, but it's always possible - not by me though!

No rectangular plug in a round hole here. As I say, no obvious signs of the mains socket having been changed on my '78 120w.
(The fuse holders and power switch I did have to change a few years back - well it has been a hard working beastie.)
