Orange Model RO 100? Serial Number 752
Hello together.
My name is Frank, i'am from Germany. A week ago I did a swop deal against a Orange Amp. I have no idea about the serial number and the model type. It says model RO 100, I think it means OR 100...or i'am wrong? Serial number is hand written and says 752. Maybe someone can help me.
Best regards Frank

I edited and inserted them.
It looks like an OR120 to me but what you can see of the serial number is tricky. definitely a hand-written serial number and model. The OR100 was an OrMat faceplate.

I'd be concerned about the number of modifications that the amp has received and if it was me, I'd have it checked out by an amp tech.

Thanks for that Yes a lot of modifications but the amp sounds great. But I was wondering about the "ro 100" instead of "or 100". The previous owner told me it is an OR 120 from 1972....but it says ro100... are there any orange amps with RO instead of OR Models?

With the presence knob right where the model designation is, all bets are off. Orange had a GRO100 model but this definitely isn't it - that said, the hand-written parts could indicate an amp built with some leftover chassis and parts maybe? I'm also wondering about the impedance switch going down to 3.75 - I've never seen that before but two 8 ohm cabs (referred back then as two 7.5 ohm cabs) would do that.FranktheTank wrote: ↑Mon Oct 01, 2018 12:30 pmThanks for that Yes a lot of modifications but the amp sounds great. It looks like somewhere in the early 70's right at the switch to text from the pics only graphics maybe...

Couldn't hurt!
Sometimes there is a dated inspection tag but with all the mods it might have been removed.

I agree with Billy
The front looks like bog standard early/mid 70s OR120
From the back I thought that it was going to be a GRO100 (with the G obscured by the pot ). It has Matamp style black transformers.
Pics from inside would tell a lot, as would the pic from above of the transformers and choke.

I’ve got bad news for you. The inside of that amp is not anything built by Orange at any stage of the game. I don’t know what all that is inside that amp, but that’s nothing like anything Orange has ever built! My guess is somebody got the chassis of a totally burned out amp and decide to repopulate it with something else.

Yeah, that's exactly what I thought, too. Components in an Orange don't hang in mid-air....Gladmarr wrote: ↑Thu Oct 04, 2018 12:16 amI’ve got bad news for you. On the upside... It has point-to-point wiring.
