Hi,
I've got this really old amp....
http://tinypic.com/r/xp9gk8/9
It's serial number v213. When I bought it ( about 25 years ago ) the guy in the shop ran it through a nice pedal and it sounded amazing. I never got it together to get the speakers for it though and it's been sitting in a shed for quite a while. I think I may need to restore it. I'm scared if I plug it in it might just blow up.
It's a hell of a thing though. Rough around the edges but it has a charm.
Anyone ever restored one of these?

If you have an amp tech you trust, bring it to them and let them slowly bring up the voltages and check it out overall.

Looks to be in pretty good shape for sitting in a shed for years. And now for the standard joke around here:
It looks like a lot of work, you should just send it to me, I’ll take care of it.

Looks to be quite respectable (cracked front panel is quite common).
Where are you based?
I have just finished work on a couple of these and they are pretty simple to work on.
Take care who you get to 'restore' it as some horrible things get done.
If you want you can send me a pm if you are in the UK not too far from Suffolk!

Thanks LD50 - I have a guy who really seems to know what he's doing looking after it for me.
If it turns out to be trickier than it appears though I'll give you a shout. I'm in Ireland so not next door but not a million miles away either. Rust may be an issue with some of the internal parts but I'll know in a few weeks when all the work is done so fingers crossed!

Hope it all goes well! I inserted your picture into your initial post. Great looking amp - can't wait to hear a clip when it's done!
