Vintage 4x12 cab

Post by thijs » Thu Jun 13, 2013 9:41 pm

Hello,

Can someone help me on this?
I own a vintage orage cab but I have no clue of it's age.
The serial code is 1069 and all the speakers have the same codes: T1217 JE20V

I'm also thinking of selling this cab, what is the estimated value of a cab like this?
I know marshall cabs get very expensive as they get older, is it the same with orange cabs?
The looks very good, as you can see in the pictures below.

Here's a link to Celestion date codes. Looks like September 20, 1972 but that V at the end has me baffled.

As far as pricing, it depends where you are. You didn't include that in your profile... my advice is to follw an ebay auction for one of these 70's cabs on ebay and see what it brings. Or do a search for ended auctions....

Since this is your first post I wanted to just say, forum rules are no buying or selling on here.

Nice cab by the way - it's in really good shape!

Thanks for the info!
I was thinking 1972 as well, but looking at other topics on this forum got me a little confused :D..

I am from Belgium, I already searched on ebay but it seems very hard to find one of these cabs for sale (even in completed listings).

Grtz

The other thing to keep in mind is that the speakers may have been around for a bit so it could possibly be 73 or 74 maybe. More than likely, the speaker date and cab manufacture are pretty close so saying 72 wouldn't be out of the ordinary.
